Historic Achievement at the German Open Championships!

Historic Achievement at the German Open Championships!

From August 19 to 23, Stuttgart hosted the most prestigious dance competition in the world — the German Open Championships. This event is considered no less significant than the World and European Championships, as not only do the best couples from each country participate, but also dancers from around the world in open categories.

It was here that our students, the dance couple Jelisei Zemljannikov – Gertrude Sofia Kirkmann, delivered a brilliant performance!
In the Juniors 2 – 10 Dance category, with 63 couples competing from across the globe, Jelisei and Sofia made a real breakthrough — reaching the final and taking an honorable 4th place!

This is a unique result for Finland — never before in the history of the German Open Championships has a Finnish junior couple achieved such success!

Our young dancers have written a new chapter in the history of Finnish dance sport, showing top-level skill, determination, and passion for dance.

We are especially proud that Jelisei and Sofia are students of our club.

A bit of history: a similar achievement was once made by our couple Nikita Shchurov – Angelina Ignatieva, who in 2017 took 3rd place in the Children 1 category in Stuttgart. Now Jelisei and Sofia proudly continue this tradition, once again bringing glory to Finland and our club on the world stage!

We warmly congratulate our young champions and their coaches on this remarkable success. The road to the final was the result of endless work, perseverance, and love for dance.

May this achievement be a shining example for all our students: persistence and self-belief make miracles happen!
